This collection of photos (main index here) is from users.lmi.net/zombie/sf_rally_march_20_2004/, downloaded on 2004-Mar-22. I could not determine the actual name of the individual responsible for these gems, but "zombie" is his username at lmi.net, and zombie@lmi.net is a good guess at an email address. -AMPP Ed.

The March 20 rally was supposed to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, but in fact another issue was dominant: the Israel-Palestinian conflict. There was little doubt what side people were on.

One of the many booths selling anti-Israel paraphernalia. Notice how Israel doesn't exist on these maps. By "End the Occupation" the protestors mean "End Israel as a concept: Palestine from the river to the sea."

A lot of the imagery and verbiage recalled the anti-Semitic blood libel.

He's just a Saddam-lovin', blood-libelin' fool.

"Freedom" -- to cover our faces and kill people.

We probably will all be Palestinians if they take down the wall and "end the occupation," since no one else will be left alive.

Speaking of the "wall" -- there was a mobile anti-wall brigade in the march, complete with cardboard wall segments that spelled out "Israel's Wall Must Fall." Here a couple of views of it as it went by.

Nearby was a cardboard Israeli tank that was paid for with my tax dollars. I managed to snap a couple shots before dodging out of the way.

Speaking of dodging out of the way: here are a couple of friends of someone who zigged when she should have zagged.

This guy is at every single rally. He was laughable at first, but by now we're all just bored with him.

A contingent of hormonal Palestinian supporters marching by and chanting. A video of their chants can be found on the "Movies" page.

"No War for Israel," but war against Israel is perfectly fine.

One of many signs expressing a similar sentiment.
